“My Engagement Story…” | Valentine’s Day Winner
Posted on February 20, 2010
First of all, we want to say a special thank you to all the wonderful couples who took the time share their unique stories! We loved them all! It was so hard to narrow it down to one
! But here is the love story that made us both say, “Awww…”
My Engagement Story by Ashley Bucher
“Once upon a time…haha just kidding… So it happened after I got off work Saturday evening. I drove up to his house and saw that he had his horse saddled up. I got out and he told me to keep my jacket on because he wanted to take me for a ride to ’show me something.’ I was getting a little suspicious but didn’t want to get my hopes up just yet. Anyways, there we were, riding double out to the back pasture where there is a big lake that we love. On a tree near the dam, I saw something white hanging from a tree and thought it was trash. We rode up to it and Josh ’suggested’ I pull it down. I pulled it down and saw it was a letter he wrote to me. It was beautiful, and talked about the way he loves me and his devotion he will have for me and our family one day. For those of you who don’t know, Josh speaks Chinese he learned while he did mission work in China. At the bottom of the letter was a phrase written in Chinese, and below that, the paper was torn off. I felt bad for him that part of his letter had been ripped off but he didn’t really address that, he just gave me a riddle to where I would find the interpretation of the phrase. It led to a solitary tree that is growing out of the side of the dam. I got off the horse, and found a box in the tree. Inside was the torn off part of the letter that read, Will you marry me? and below was the most beautiful ring! He got down off his horse and asked me, and of course I said YES!”
Isn’t that so sweet?? Congratulations on winning our contest for a FREE engagement session! You both deserve it

Stephen & Amber: Stephenville Wedding
Posted on February 16, 2010
Amber and I were in choir together. We would sneak off to the back practice rooms with our other friend, Amy, to “practice” for Solo and Ensemble. Well, I think we each sang our songs once, then for the rest of the time would talk and laugh about life as a high school student. There are not many people that you know would always be there for you if you ever needed them, but I know Amber is one of those friends.
When Amber told me she was marrying Stephen Burge, who we also went to high school with and whose dad is the proud owner of TumbleWeed BBQ in Stephenville and Cresson (holla!), I was so happy for her. It’s always amazing to me the way that God brings people together. Even though we all went to high school together, Amber and Stephen didn’t start dating until college. When they sat on my living room couch together for our initial consultation, it was SO evident that their love for one another was just overflowing. I’ve never seen Amber so happy, and Stephen was so caring in the way he spoke to her. I love to see true love.
On January 23rd, Amber & Stephen joined their lives together as husband and wife. I am 100% confident that they will be in love until they are grey headed, because their commitment was absolute and incredibly noticeable. I’m so so happy for them and I was so honored that they chose me to be their photographer.
Stephen and Amber, I love you both! You are so dear to my heart and I wish you a lifetime full of joy! I hope you love the images we got at your wedding… They are definitely in my top favorites!

Cricket & Derek: Ft. Worth Wedding Part I
Posted on February 4, 2010
You know that a girl with the name Cricket has to be fabulous. We fell in love with this couple when we met them. They are so amazing together… just happy and so so in love. When we did Cricket’s bridals (that we have yet to post… aaahh), we saw how amazing Cricket looked in her beautiful dress, and just KNEW she was going to make Derek cry on their wedding day. I think Cricket’s dress is one of my favorites so far!
Cricket and Derek got married at the Ashton Hotel in downtown Ft. Worth. The location was just amazing, but the wedding party was SO much more amazing! They were a HOOT! I loved how they were up for anything… easy going… and just ready to celebrate the day. It’s honestly an ideal situation when the wedding party is relaxed and up for anything when it comes to pictures. I can get better/more creative pictures if everyone just goes with the flow. I think you will see what I mean when you see the images we captured!
Cricket and Derek, I’m so thankful that you chose us to be your wedding photographers. We are truly blessed to have met you and we’re so glad we got to be with you on your wedding day. You are fabulous couple and we hope you have a wonderful life together!
