Posted on April 27, 2010
What is it? It’s a one-day workshop for photographers who are just starting out and need a little help to get moving in the direction they want to be going! We want to provide you with lots of one-on-one attention so that you can learn exactly what YOU want to learn! We will be covering a variety of topics such as: posing (or how to make it look like they’re NOT posing!), lighting, how to make the camera do exactly what you want it to, what to do with the pictures once you’ve taken them, and a LOT more! How MUCH more? Well, probably more about websites, camera gear, branding, how to get your business going, and plenty of Q&A time! The day will also include a photo shoot with models, yummy food to eat, and great opportunities for networking with other photographers! How much better can it get?
Who is it? It’s US (Micah and Ashley… of course!)
When is it? July 15th (yes, THIS July!) from 10AM-6PM
Where is it? Granbury, TX – Exact location is TBA (stay tuned!!)
How much is it? $400
How do I register? Email wed@doubleknotphotography.com to sign up! A $200 deposit is required to reserve your spot! Final payment is due 2 weeks before the workshop!
What do I bring? Bring all of your camera gear and a laptop (if you want)!
Will we eat? Once you get to know us, you will realize that food is something that we NEVER forget about! We are a couple of girls who can EAT! We will provide snacks and lunch for the group! Join us at 6 for dinner at one of the cute restaurants in Granbury (dutch treat) and a great time of networking and Q&A!
It’s only a couple months away, so if you’re interested – get on it!
Josh & Ashley: Stephenville Engagement
Posted on April 15, 2010
Josh and Ashley were the proud winners of the DKP Free Engagement Session Contest and we finally got to bless them with their e-session! Honestly, I don’t think we could have picked a better couple. These two are so incredibly in love. It was really encouraging to see a couple so devoted to each other. They were so comfortable together, so playful, so full of joy…. oh man, we could have shot them for hours! To top it all off, we got to shoot at the location where Josh proposed, which included beautiful trees and incredible wild flowers! Oh spring, you make our hearts sing!
Josh and Ashley, thank you so much for allowing us to spend an evening with you, capturing this vapor of a time in your lives! Ya’ll are so incredible sweet and we were so blessed by photographing you guys! We hope you find some images you love!
If you missed their story, here it is:
My Engagement Story by Ashley Bucher
“Once upon a time…haha just kidding… So it happened after I got off work Saturday evening. I drove up to his house and saw that he had his horse saddled up. I got out and he told me to keep my jacket on because he wanted to take me for a ride to ’show me something.’ I was getting a little suspicious but didn’t want to get my hopes up just yet. Anyways, there we were, riding double out to the back pasture where there is a big lake that we love. On a tree near the dam, I saw something white hanging from a tree and thought it was trash. We rode up to it and Josh ’suggested’ I pull it down. I pulled it down and saw it was a letter he wrote to me. It was beautiful, and talked about the way he loves me and his devotion he will have for me and our family one day. For those of you who don’t know, Josh speaks Chinese he learned while he did mission work in China. At the bottom of the letter was a phrase written in Chinese, and below that, the paper was torn off. I felt bad for him that part of his letter had been ripped off but he didn’t really address that, he just gave me a riddle to where I would find the interpretation of the phrase. It led to a solitary tree that is growing out of the side of the dam. I got off the horse, and found a box in the tree. Inside was the torn off part of the letter that read, Will you marry me? and below was the most beautiful ring! He got down off his horse and asked me, and of course I said YES!”
We started the session off in a boat we found!
And THEN, we spotted some beatiful trees… on the other side of a barB Wire fence. Hey, when we see a good place to shoot, there is NOTHING stopping us.
We thought this was cute of Josh helping Ashley get across. Fortunately, there was no one to take pictures of Micah and I getting over/under/through the fence. Needless to say, it was not so cute.
Tell us it wasn’t worth it! Isn’t this just gorgeous?
This is what we love about have two shooters! While I (Ashley) got one fun angle, Micah got another!
They laughed the entire shoot! It was so sweet to see how much fun they had together!
You guys are STUNNING.
Just a little something playful we tried!
Sarah: Bridal
Posted on April 13, 2010
We have been waiting for weeks to post Sarah’s bridal session! We finally got to document Sarah & Wes’ wedding this past Saturday (which was AMAZING and we can’t wait to show you!), which means we can finally show you Sarah’s bridal! She is such a beauty, both inside and out. Her kindness and joy was overflowing from the second we met her at the bridal, to the end of the wedding day. Fortunately, we get to spend another day with Sarah & Wes soon, because they have booked a Newlywed session! YAY! That will be tons of fun, too! During that session, we are planning a mixture of Trash the Dress, Day After, and Engagement type of sessions all into one session! Anyway, first things first. Sarah’s bridal! Let’s start with Ashley’s favorite:
And we’ll end with Micah’s favorite:
