Ben & Whitney: Wedding {North Texas Wedding Photographer}
Posted on July 28, 2010
Ben & Whitney tied the knot in a small country chapel on a county road in north Texas. Whitney said she looked for the perfect white chapel and this one fit them just right. It was quiet, small, and beauitful. We loved it. On the wall inside the chapel was a wooden box that held little letters and numbers in it. “Hymn 140″ one slot read. So old-fashioned and wonderful. Oh to think about what life would be like if things were simplified sometimes.
We enjoyed spending the day in the country with Whitney and Ben and just getting to experience the warmth and love they projected. They are the kind of people you just want to get to know and be friends with for life. Thank you both so much for asking us to be a part of your special day. We hope you love the images we captured!
This is SO typical of Micah. She’s always looking for ways to serve and love on people. In this case the bridesmaids needed help with their sashes. Lucky for them, Micah is an AWESOME bow tie-er. Love it.
One of my favorite shots of the day… I love the way everyone, especially her mom, is looking at her with endearing eyes!
They were SO happy!
Aren’t they a stunning couple?
Another favorite shot of the day… this is Whitney with her sweet grandpa. Ahh, I love grandparents.
We had to get a shot of all the awesome looking globes hanging in the trees!
And of course if you missed the video we made at this wedding, you can see the DKP Insider here. Have a great day!

Double Knot Workshop: {DFW Wedding Photographers}
Posted on July 20, 2010
First of all, we just want to say THANK YOU to all of our Double Knot Workshop attendees! We had an amazing group of people come to our first workshop and we honestly felt like our hearts were so full after the day was done. I’m sure many of you are wondering why we would want to do a workshop, especially since we are two young girls who have not been in the business for an extremely long period of time. I think that’s an awesome question. Here’s the thing. When we were first starting out in photography, we wanted to get some personal interaction with other photographer’s that we respected. We wanted to ask them questions face to face. Dumb questions (or so we thought)… like… What should my aperture be when shooting a family of four? What lenses should I buy? How do you pose people without making your clients feel awkward? These are all things you could research for hours on end on the internet, but we really needed guidance. Micah & I took it upon ourselves to go to workshops, conferences, and classes that taught us some of these basics and more. We actually realized that we weren’t asking dumb questions… we were asking questions that ALL beginners want to know!
Since we have been so blessed in our photographic journy, we thought it would be a wonderful way to help other photographers who are just starting out if we could teach them lots of the things we wanted to know at the beginning. We wanted to spill all of our fears, failures, trials, and errors as well as the victories and blessings we’ve encountered along the way that make us who we are. Our hopes were that by the end of one full day with a few beginner photographers, they would feel inspired to try new things, dare to make mistakes, and be unique by being themselves.
We could not have been more pleased with the way the day turned out. Thanks again ladies! Ya’ll were amazing and we hope to see you all again soon!
Special thanks to the American Heritage House Bed & Breakfast for hosting our Workshop!
Micah using her teaching skills!

We went out for 2 photoshoots for hand-on learning. First we photographed a family…

Special thanks to the Thomas family. I’ve honestly never seen two more well behaved children in all of my life… and to think this was at 2:30 in the afternoon in 100 degree weather! Whew!
Anne, you’re beautiful!
Next we were off to the couple’s shoot!
Special thanks to the Hilton’s. Brady & Stephanie make gorgeous models, don’t you think?
Wow, Steph. You’re gorgeous!
A HUGE thanks to Jennifer and Cindy May (817-929-3929) for making these incredible cupcakes for our attendees. Not only do they look amazing, but they taste even better. Wow. These ladies are talented at baking cakes!
We love you ladies! Thanks so much for coming! We are praying for each of you in your future endeavors!
Andrew & Casey: Wedding {Granbury Wedding Photographer}
Posted on July 19, 2010
Andrew and Casey were one of the many couples that we meet for the first time at their engagement shoot. Lots of clients prefer to talk through email and phone in order to book us (which is great with us since we live in two separate towns already!), so it’s always fun for us to talk what we think they look like, what their style is, what their personalities are like, and how we can pull ALL of that out them during their photoshoots! One of the best things about meeting a couple together for the first time is that we are able to see them in their element. When you see a couple in love, it’s like they pull out all of the best characteristics of each other when they are together. It was so much fun to photograph Casey and Andrew.
Casey and Andrew got married at the incredible Inn on Lake Granbury Bed and Breakfast (which happens to be the place where Eric proposed to me [Ashley]!). It was such a gorgeous hot Texas summer day. The sun was shining and the wind was blowing. Ahh… Although Micah and I always sweat QUITE a bit in outdoor weddings in the summer, we thoroughly enjoy soaking in the beauty that surrounded us. With the lake in the background and a couple vowing their undying love to one another, the scene was set to perfection.
Thank you guys so much for letting us spend your beautiful wedding day with you! We had a blast! Hope you cherish your pictures! Blessings on your marriage!
We had an unexpected guest on the day of the wedding…
Nathan & Lindsey: Mansfield Wedding {Fort Worth Wedding Photographer}
Posted on July 12, 2010
Nathan & Lindsey were ahead of the game when it came to planning. They booked us for June 5th at the beginning of last summer, and with lots of of inquiries for June 5th, we were super excited to get to celebrate that popular day with two very special people!
Thank you both for allowing us to document you wedding day. Your love for each other is so evident and it’s such a blessing to be a part of that! Enjoy your pictures!

Nathan had lots of assistants in preparing for the big day! I love this series of pictures…

A quick game of football on your wedding day? I think so.

I loved Lindsey’s hair and flower. She was SO stunning on her wedding day!

This might be the cutest thing ever. Nathan had a snag or something on his jacket and who better to come to the rescue than three ladies?

Favorite picture of the day. Ahhh…

Does anyone else think this is just the most awesome thing ever? I hope that Eric and I (Ashley) still dance like that when we get old! Actually, I wish we danced like that now! Haha!

Bring out the head lamp…
