With a wedding party of 16, it was very apparent that Matt & Laura are two very loved people. It’s no surprise though, since they are such a charming couple. Both are smart, fun, and super kind. We had such a great time with them during their engagement session back in August, and we’ve been excited to shoot their wedding ever since. Their day was such a delight to be a part of, especially their reception! What a party! They had a really great band and lots of guests who LOVE to dance. A fun reception makes time fly by for us, so as quickly as the day started, it was over. We are so glad we got to be the ones capturing each moment as it happened!
Matt & Laura, we hope you love your images! Thanks again!
Everyone Needs One
Posted on April 20, 2011
Yes, even you. You need one. Do you even know what it is you need? Maybe you don’t know, because you’ve never experienced it. Well, let us help you.
EVERYONE needs a super comfy favorite shirt. You know what we’re talking about. On the days where you have NOTHING to wear (well, you have stuff… but, you know…). On the days when you don’t have time to search in your closet for something that will look cute, fit well, feel comfortable, and possibly conquer your to-do list for you. On the days when you are feeling… let’s just go ahead and say it… plump. You know those days. All you need is a favorite shirt.
For those of you that have had a favorite shirt before, you know what we’re talking about. It’s your time saver. It’s your mood helper. It’s your victory attire. Your favorite shirt can do these things. But, even you could use a new favorite shirt.
Not only do these shirts accomplish all of the day-saving feats listed above, but they are literally the. softest. shirts. EVER. For real. Whenever somone comments on my shirt when I’m out and about I make them feel how soft it is. Yes, I do make them pet me. But it’s all in the name of agreeing with me that I have the most comfy shirt on in the whole wide world and it’s super cute, too.
Do not be fooled, people. These shirts are not tight and they do not run small. They are perfect in all ways. And that’s why we wear them ALL the time. We promise that we are not super-concieted-lovers-of-our-own-business kind of people. They are seriously our favorite shirts.
If you would like to experience what it’s like to have a favorite shirt, you have come to the right place.

She walked in the door and I knew it was her. She just looked sweet. You know those people that just look sweet? She does. And she is. I couldn’t wait to start a conversation with her and hear all about her life, love, and wedding plans. That was a few months ago at Starbucks.
We didn’t know what to expect with Cagney. We knew he must be a great guy, considering how precious Carlisle is, but we didn’t have a clue. Once we met him, it made sense. He’s funny. He’s easy going. He’s also sweet. We love them both.
When brainstorming locations for their engagement shoot, Carlisle mentioned that they like to spend a lot of time in the summer at the lake and would like to incorporate some sort of water into their engagement session. When we were searching for locations, I (Ash) found a pretty little spot by a creek in my neighborhood. I pitched the idea to Micah and she was all for it. When we brought Carlisle and Cagney to the first location, the creek, Carlisle said she used to come to that EXACT spot and play when she was growing up! No joke. How perfect! Also, Cagney & Carlisle are a sucker for late night ice cream runs at their local convenient store (they are our kind of people!!!) so we, of course, had to play around with the ice cream idea.
We had so much fun with the two of them going all around town playing and capturing their sweet personalities. Also, special thanks to our friend and “equipment techie” Brittney who joined us for the fun!

Stacy started planning her wedding way in advance. She’s the kind of girl who is organized and does not let much slip past her. I’m thankful for that, because she’s the teller at my (Ashley) bank. Yay! But, we are also thankful for her organizations skills because her months of planning and prepping totally paid off. Their wedding was incredible! Really. She and her family did most of it themselves, but you would have thought a wedding planner extraordinaire was behind the scenes. Well, there was… but she was also the bride.
We had never met Derek, but when we did, he was totally at peace and ready to be married to the love of his life. We complimented the guys over and over, since A.) It helps them feel like studs in front of the camera, and B.) They were truly some of the nicest guys we’ve worked with. Honestly, these guys were so sweet and willing to go for any of our crazy ideas! So, special thank you, guys!
Derek & Stacy got married at the Country Club at Pecan Plantation in Granbury and we have to say, it was one of the prettiest outdoor locations we’ve shot at thus far. We wholeheartedly recommend this place for outdoor ceremonies! Beauitful! We had such a great time with Derek & Stacy (and friends/family!) and we are so excited for their new adventure together in marriage! We hope you adore what we captured!

Laura and Matt tied the knot last weekend at University Christian Church in Fort Worth. Since that church has such a special meaning to her, we did a few of her bridals there in March! Their wedding was beautiful and we can’t wait to post it, but until then, here are a few from her bridal portrait session! Enjoy!
