Travis & Amy Engagement | Destination Wedding Photographers
Posted on October 31, 2011
Guess what?! Amy & Travis are getting married THIS week! Guess what else?! They are getting married in CANCUN! YAY on both accounts!
Although Micah won’t be able to travel since Reille Joy will be making her appearance fairly quickly (YAY for that, too!), Mikka will be joining me (Ashley) on this Mexican Extravaganza, which we will from now on officially call this trip of documenting the wonderful Travis & Amy’s wedding.
Since their wedding is coming up so quickly, we snuck their engagement session blog a few places up in the order of doing things…. so we hope you enjoy this radiant couple. We surely did! Amy & Travis, you guys are incredible… really… we couldn’t stop talking about you after the session. We also couldn’t stop talking about how you guys are just the kind of couple we strive to photograph at Double Knot! Gold star for being SO awesome! Can’t wait for this week! Enjoy your engagement pics!

Ryan & Cassie Engagement | Granbury Wedding Photographers

They changed clothes halfway through the session at my house, so after the shoot they came back by to pick up all of their stuff. Micah, me, and Cassie stood there and chatted about wedding details and how much fun being in love is while my husband, Eric, and Ryan sat in the living room catching up on sports and watching the Ranger game. If they would have stayed a few more hours, we wouldn’t have minded. They are easy to be around and even easier to become friends with. We are seriously blessed with some of the BEST clients.
I met Cassie & Ryan this summer for a quick mini-session so they could send out save the dates, and we continued their session this fall with a VERY fun surprise for them! You will have to look at the pictures to see. Let’s just say, when Cassie told us that she likes to read and hang out with Ryan while he fishes, we started trying to brainstorm how we could make a fun idea into a reality. Thanks to my friend, Christi, we obtained a very necessary item to pull it off. Yay for friends!
So, here you go blog-readers. The beautiful Cassie & handsome Ryan!

Matt & Jenna | Flower Mound Engagement Session

It’s not every day (or every session) that a bride takes us up on our crazy ideas. Well, we like to think they are amazing…. but nonetheless, we are sure they sometimes seem crazy. For Matt & Jenna’s session, we had a fun idea for a fall vintage picnic that included china, cupcakes, an umbrella, tree stumps, and luggage. Yes, our ideas sometimes (ALWAYS) require a little (or a lot) of effort to pull off (Billy & Anny’s tent rings a bell). We think this is why we are sometimes denied of our “crazy” ideas…but not by Matt & Jenna!!! They took us up on our offer for a creative photo shoot and it totally paid off! Props to Matt & Jenna!*
*no pun intended… okay, maybe…
It took Matt a little while before he decided he liked us. Well, we think he liked us the whole time, but he didn’t like being in front of a couple of cameras (see guys? it’s not just you!). That is, until he saw an image we shot that he totally ROCKED. After deciding he looked pretty studly next to his gorgeous bride-to-be, it was all good.
Matt & Jenna, we adore you! You guys were so fun to be around and we are REALLY looking forward to your wedding on 3.16!

Jared & Valerie | Engagement

Guys who have sisters are at an advantage. It’s almost unfair to the guys who don’t have sisters. They aren’t as prepared for all of the fingernail-painting, home-decorating, laughing-one-moment-crying-another, heart-on-her-sleeve, chocolate-needing…. ness… that a girl encompasses. Okay, so maybe that’s just what my (Ashley) husband has had to learn the hard way. But even so, we were completely amazed at Jared being so sensitive and kind to Valerie and so easy to carry on a conversation with throughout the whole session. It is as you suspected… he had sister training.
We completely enjoyed spending the morning with Jared and Valerie. Valerie is as sweet (and petite) as they get. Prove it, you say? Well, okay then. When we very first met Jared & Valerie in the parking lot at the Botanic Gardens in Fort Worth, the sweet little thing proceeded to present us with the best gift a pregnant lady & a sweets-aholic lady might wish for. Pumpkin Muffins! Did we wait until after the session when we were out of sight and headed home to eat them? Absolutely not! We managed to inhale them down during the first outfit change. The pumpkin muffins are ABSOLUTELY delicious and, according to Valerie, SUPER simple to make! That’s a fantastic combo when you lack the skills of Mrs. Crocker like I do. If you would like to make them, Valerie sent the recipe she found on Pinterest here. She said for a more cupcake taste, add cream cheese icing. Yum!
Jared & Valerie, y’all are a very special couple. We truly enjoyed spending time with you and we hope you love what we got of you guys! Blessings!
