Baby Reille’s Nursery | Micah
Posted on January 10, 2012
I’m so proud of how Reille’s nursery came together! I’ve been itching to post pictures for quite some time now
. It is EXACTLY what I wanted and more! I’m a visionary and from the beginning I knew I wanted Reille’s room to be themed “vintage baby” and unlike any room I had ever seen. I think my mom wondered if I would ever finish her room, but it took time finding what I was looking for! What I love most about her room is that everything has a story, as does the rest of our house, and we didn’t break the piggy bank decorating it!
Mom found this awesome crib at a garage sale one morning. Who can beat $150? See the cute lamp on her cubby? 50 cents at a garage sale. I made her wall art! I spray painted the piece we found at a garage sale for $2 antique white and sewed the flowers. The adorable flags hanging over her crib were made by my awesome friends, Salania and Brittney. See the vintage laundry hamper by her crib? I was leaving Ashley’s house one morning as she and Eric were setting up for a garage sale. I saw the laundry hamper and asked if I could buy it. Of course she wouldn’t let me pay her, but when I brought it inside, I realized it was the exact color of the accent wall! And my favorite part of the whole room is Reille’s bedding. My grandmother, affectionately known as Maw, made it. I am IN LOVE with it!
This piggy bank in her room is in honor of her Daddy. He’s already begun a college fund for her
.
Here is a close up of the flags. SOOO cute!
Maw made some personalized tags to sew on the bedding. Perfect… absolutely perfect!
Here’s my favorite stuffed animal in her crib. These are all for decoration, so don’t freak out if and think I’m letting my baby girl sleep in a crib full of stuffed animals
. She’s sleeping in our room in her bassinet.
Here’s a different angle to the room. Thank you Lynn for these awesome shelves. The shelves were the last touch I was searching for. I couldn’t find any shelves deep enough so I was telling Lynn my dilemma. A few days later, at her own birthday party, she gave me these two shelves. I couldn’t believe she was thinking about me when she had so many other things on her mind that day. I was SO excited, I couldn’t wait to get home and paint them! The furniture was already in our guest bedroom, so we bought new knobs to change the look! See the beautiful blanket on the glider? I am so honored for Reille to have a hand sewn blanket from one of my favorite “grandma’s” at church, June. She is a prayer warrior and I knew for every minute she spent sweing this blanket, the same amount of time was spent praying for Reille and the destiny God has for her life. I will ALWAYS treasure this blanket!
These books have special significance. Reille’s cousin, Malia, is about 4 years older than her. She will soon be moving to Hawaii with her mom and dad. She told me one day she will teach Reille how to walk and read! These are a few of Malia’s favorite books, so I will be sure Reille has a reminder of her sweet cousin!
This is another garage sale special. Mom bought this lamp for $2 and I thought it was absolutely hideous! No offense, Mom. So I changed it up a bit! Like it?
Reille’s middle name is Joy, so I painted these letters and sewed a cute flower to glue on!
David and I love the Curious George book Eric and Ashley bought for Reille! Adorable. Reille’s great grandmother bought her the little red shoes and I had to display them on her shelf in honor of my Nana. I decided these shoes are for her to wear since Nana always said, “Every room needs a little splash of red!”
Hope you enjoyed your tour of Reille’s room. I love it
!
She’s Here! | Micah

Hello everyone!! I feel like I’ve been living on another planet for the past month
. I have some exciting news, as some of you may already know… David and I are proud parents of a baby girl! I delivered my precious little girl, Reille Joy, November 25th… around 1am. She weighed 6 pounds 3 ounces, measuring 19 1/4 inches. She was a tiny thing! I had an inkling she would come around Thanksgiving despite the well meaning people who would give me the “you’re a first time Mommy pat and smile” and tell me not to get my hopes up. Reille made her grand entrance 38 weeks on the dot, just hours after Thanksgiving… It was awesome!
There have been so many days I wanted to run to my computer to blog about this journey, Reille’s room, her newborn pictures, etc. but this post is evident it took me 5 weeks to make it happen. This morning Ashley sent a text encouraging me to blog about my new baby girl [thank you, thank you] so here I am, the night before, preparing my blog post as my little girl is screaming because she can’t keep her pacifier in her mouth
. Now I’m reminded why I can’t get anything done!
I have full intentions of blogging pictures and telling the story behind my miracle baby, so stay tuned! It may be delayed, but it will be blogged. I want you all to meet my new bundle of joy! I’m biased but I think she the cutest thing ever
. I hired Karyn when I was about 10 weeks pregnant knowing newborn photography is not my thing and I’m SO glad I did! Thank you Karyn at In Bloom Images for capturing these special moments! You’re awesome.
Here. She. Is!!
