We have had so much fun getting to know Billy & Anny over the last year. We did their engagement session last summer, Anny’s bridals last fall, their wedding in October, and finally their (belated) Day After session this spring. After so many special moments with them, you kinda get attached! It’s been amazing to really learn about them, share in the joys of their wedding and marriage, and celebrate the new season of Newlywed life. It’s a little sad to know we won’t be working with them anymore, but we are so thankful to have made some awesome new friends! 
Their Newlywed session was at The Mansion on Turtle Creek, and it was such a fun and beautiful place to shoot! So fun! Billy & Anny, we are thankful for you guys and so glad we met you!

Travis & Amy Day After | Cancun Wedding Photographers

They were game for a sunrise session, since the lighting would be the prettiest at that location at sunrise, so we awoke long before the sun came up to prepare for a fun morning. We all started on the beautiful pier, worked our way down the beach, then caught a cab into Puerto Morales, a little town close to the resort we were staying in. Due to the near hurricane, the little town had parts that were completely flooded. Some of the roads were under a foot of water and the cab drivers drove right through them! Scary!! But, we had the best time in that little town, using the bright colored buildings and even the locals as “props.” Such a delightful morning!

Cancun Destination Wedding | Day After Session

Since Kris & Ashley’s wedding wasn’t booked until after we set our flight schedule for Arlene & Derrell’s wedding, the only way to shoot a Day After session for them was to do a sunrise session the morning we were leaving to head back to Texas. When we proposed the idea for a super early morning shoot, they were all for it! Perfect! We planned to meet them at 6:45 AM and photograph them as the sun was coming up. Fortunately for us, Kris & Ashley are typically early morning risers, so a sunrise session seemed perfect for their style. What wasn’t so fortunate is that, in order for Ashley to get her hair and make-up done before the session, she had to get up somewhere around 3:30 AM! What a trooper!
You know what else is awesome? Sunrise sessions. I (Ashley) personally have not been awake for near as many sunrises as sunsets, but I must say – the clouds at sunrise are PHENOMENAL! You guys just wait until you see some of these images. Every time I look at them I want to go back to Cancun! Like, right now.
By the way, after church this past Sunday, guess who I saw? ASHLEY & KRIS!! Although this couple lives in Canada, Kris’ brother, Jesse (and his wife Brandi) live here in Granbury, and Ashley & Kris were down for a visit! What a surprise! Also, a fun fact, Ashley is expecting their first child! Yay! This is from Sunday… I took the picture because I knew Micah would never believe me!
Here is a couple pictures of our hubbies who came along with us for the sunrise session since we had to take a taxi. They were a tad bit sleepy!

There is a different spirit about a day after session. It’s the joy that overflows from the beginning of new season in the newlylwed couple. Plus, when you’re doing a Day After Session in Mexico, it kinda feels like we get to be on their honeymoon vacation, too! We had such a blast getting to know Arlene and Derrell and getting to spend their wedding day with them. The Day After Session just totally topped the cake. The whole session was relaxed and perfect. We fit right in with the slow paced beach lifestyle, just strolling along the beach, stopping when something caught our eyes. At the end of the trip, we reflected on how much we love Arlene and Derrell and how much we love to travel.
Did we mention we love to travel?

Feliz Navidad! A Mexican Merry Christmas…

We had such an amazing time in Mexico (we had a hard time leaving!)! We are so thankful that we got to be a part of both Arlene & Derrell and Ashley & Kris’ wedding days. They are both incredible couples and we were so blessed to finally get to meet them in Mexico and capture their special days for them!
In order to give our loyal blog followers a little Christmas cheer, we wanted to blog just a couple of sneak peeks of each of the two couple’s Day After Sessions. Both of the sessions were completely different and completely wonderful. Looking back through all of the pictures makes us a little teary eyed. What a blessing to be able to do this for them!
