Jackie & Joseph: Rockwall Harbor Engagement Session

Posted on June 24, 2010

Although we had talked through email, we officially met Jackie & Joseph for the first time at the Harbor on Lake Rockwall. There were tons of people out enjoying the beautiful weather and all of the neat restaurants and shops at the place, and it was so fun to shoot somewhere new! We spent lots of time walking around and talking just getting to know the two of them and of course photographing their cuteness – love it! Jackie & Joseph, thank you for letting us spend the evening with you guys! Ya’ll are a ton of fun! We hope you love your images! Can’t wait until your wedding on New Year’s Eve! Yay!

Arlie & Keith: Houston Engagement

Posted on June 23, 2010

I (Micah) will never forget the day I met Arlie — she was so quiet and reserved, yet wasn’t afraid to speak her mind! I was so excited to have her in my small group at Sam Houston State. I felt like I had nothing to offer her since she was an upper classman but I immediately fell in love with her heart. Over the course of my sophomore year, Arlie and I developed a very special bond that has continued over the years. I am so protective over Arlie and knew it would take one special guy to capture her heart… VERY special.

Arlie was driving through Abilene one afternoon and stopped by to visit me in my new hometown – Abilene. She began to tell me how she was hanging out with this guy… but just as friends. I knew in my heart this guy was THE ONE she was waiting for (but I didn’t tell her). It wasn’t long after we met up in Abilene that she called me to tell me they were dating, and not much time later when I received THE phone call that she was engaged!!

Keith, you are one blessed guy. You are marrying a princess. Arlie, isn’t God SO FAITHFUL?!? :) . I love you both!! Can’t wait ’til the wedding!

Josh & Ashley: Stephenville Engagement

Posted on April 15, 2010

Josh and Ashley were the proud winners of the DKP Free Engagement Session Contest and we finally got to bless them with their e-session! Honestly, I don’t think we could have picked a better couple. These two are so incredibly in love. It was really encouraging to see a couple so devoted to each other. They were so comfortable together, so playful, so full of joy…. oh man, we could have shot them for hours! To top it all off, we got to shoot at the location where Josh proposed, which included beautiful trees and incredible wild flowers! Oh spring, you make our hearts sing! :)

Josh and Ashley, thank you so much for allowing us to spend an evening with you, capturing this vapor of a time in your lives! Ya’ll are so incredible sweet and we were so blessed by photographing you guys! We hope you find some images you love!

If you missed their story, here it is:

My Engagement Story by Ashley Bucher
“Once upon a time…haha just kidding… So it happened after I got off work Saturday evening. I drove up to his house and saw that he had his horse saddled up. I got out and he told me to keep my jacket on because he wanted to take me for a ride to ’show me something.’ I was getting a little suspicious but didn’t want to get my hopes up just yet. Anyways, there we were, riding double out to the back pasture where there is a big lake that we love. On a tree near the dam, I saw something white hanging from a tree and thought it was trash. We rode up to it and Josh ’suggested’ I pull it down. I pulled it down and saw it was a letter he wrote to me. It was beautiful, and talked about the way he loves me and his devotion he will have for me and our family one day. For those of you who don’t know, Josh speaks Chinese he learned while he did mission work in China. At the bottom of the letter was a phrase written in Chinese, and below that, the paper was torn off. I felt bad for him that part of his letter had been ripped off but he didn’t really address that, he just gave me a riddle to where I would find the interpretation of the phrase.  It led to a solitary tree that is growing out of the side of the dam. I got off the horse, and found a box in the tree. Inside was the torn off part of the letter that read, Will you marry me? and below was the most beautiful ring! He got down off his horse and asked me, and of course I said YES!”

We started the session off in a boat we found!

And THEN, we spotted some beatiful trees… on the other side of a barB Wire fence. Hey, when we see a good place to shoot, there is NOTHING stopping us. :) We thought this was cute of Josh helping Ashley get across. Fortunately, there was no one to take pictures of Micah and I getting over/under/through the fence. Needless to say, it was not so cute.

Tell us it wasn’t worth it! Isn’t this just gorgeous?

This is what we love about have two shooters! While I (Ashley) got one fun angle, Micah got another!

Yes, or yes?

They laughed the entire shoot! It was so sweet to see how much fun they had together!

You guys are STUNNING.

Just a little something playful we tried!

Andrew & Casey {Engaged} – Ft. Worth

Posted on March 24, 2010

We met Andrew & Casey in Ft. Worth to celebrate their engagement with a photo session. We found out that they are both special education teachers in the metroplex, they like to have fun, and they are head over heels in love. They were SO cute together. Andrew was NOT one for taking pictures (what guy is??), but the way that Casey played with him and got him to be himself was really sweet. We had a good time getting Andrew to have fun, too! His personality mixed with Casey’s was perfect. We can TOTALLY see how they are perfect for each other!

Thank you both so much for letting us get to know you and follow you around, documenting your love! We hope you find some images you love so you can decorate your house! :) Can’t wait until the wedding!!!

This one’s for you, Andrew!
