Matt & Shana: Wedding {DFW Wedding Photographers}

Posted on August 30, 2010

We loved how Matt made sure to be involved in the wedding planning from overseas. You see, Matt is in the army and was deployed in Iraq until July of this summer, but that didn’t stop him from helping Shana plan their dream wedding. He was included in all of the emailing, chatting, planning, and even wrote the check for the deposit for photography – all the way from the middle East. Yes, you can already tell how much he loves Shana.

Shana is from San Angelo, but long ago decided she wanted to get married on her grandfather’s land in Tolar, TX. He has a large plot of land that was handed down through generations. On the land still stands the home that was built decades ago that Shana’s great grandmother was BORN in. It is still in good shape, too. There is so much history at that place, it was no wonder she wanted to continue the family legacy there at the ranch.

As we entered the gate of the property for the second time with ease, (remember the story of Micah vs. The Rope??), we knew this wedding would be incredibly special. When Shana was walking down the aisle with her dad and Matt’s face said it all, we were again reminded how special their day was. By the end of the day, after seeing all the love being poured out on this couple and them reciprocating it back to their family and friends, we left with such a sense of thankfulness for what we got to experience. It’s weddings like these that make us love our jobs so much. It’s people like Matt and Shana that remind us why being documenters (not just photographers) of a wedding day is such an important job.

Matt and Shana, you are precious. Seeing you read scripture to each other during the ceremony was so sweet and also symbolic. He is the very foundation of what you two began to build on that day. We pray that you will stay rooted in God’s word, God’s love, and God’s promises throughout your marriage so that you will continue to build on that strong foundation! We love you guys! Enjoy your sneak peek!

Here’s a picture of the rope that Micah had such a hard time untying before she realized she only needed to lift it over the pole of the gate. Haha!

We had never seen a picture of Matt, so Shana was showing us what he looked like! She said he would be so embarrassed that she showed us that picture! We thought it was cute!

Our FAVORITE part of the ceremony!

Notice the tears streaming down her face. So precious.

These are the kind of pictures that make me want to get married again. Ahhh.

The infamous house on the land in which Shana’s great grandmother was born!

Shana decorated with goldfish and I LOVE this shot that Micah got!

Congrats you two!
