Nick & Shannon: Engagement {DFW Wedding Photographers}

Posted on September 9, 2010

Micah & I felt pretty humbled that a couple from Virginia chose us to be their wedding photographers! This sweet couple flew down all the way from Virginia for their engagement session in Granbury! When we first met up with them, we knew right off the bat it was going to be one of the easiest sessions we’d ever photographed. A.) They are both easy to look at. I mean, seriously, they are a handsome couple! B.) When we whipped out our cameras they didn’t go running, but they started posing themselves! Being around people who enjoys being photographed is like a breath of fresh air because it helps us to use our creative muscles at a fuller extent! Plus, it helps the whole atmosphere stay relaxed and a relaxed couple = really. awesome. photos. :)

So, meet Nick and Shannon. They are a couple of Virginian cuties who are getting married here in Texas next month. We are so stoked to spend their special day with them! Until then, enjoy the pics!

Cole & Kaylee: Engaged {Fort Worth Wedding Photographers}

Posted on September 8, 2010

When we saw the way that Cole acted when he was around Kaylee, we knew he was a man in love. You see, Micah and I both went to high school with Cole and remember how he was always a fun-loving, laid-back kind of guy. It wasn’t surprising to see him having a great time with his fiance, Kaylee, but written all over his face was the love he holds for his future bride. Lucky for us, we got to spend a bright and early morning with this cute couple!

Now, just so we can get this out in the open – Girls, we know your man doesn’t enjoy getting all dressed up just so he can have a photographer take pictures of him. We know that. Seriously, we hear all the time how excited the girls are to pick outfits for the session and have new pictures to hang up in the walls of their home, but the guys – well – they would rather be playing a round of golf. Well, lucky for Cole, we are not your average photographers. :)

We started the session with a little bit of golf. I don’t think we’ve ever seen a happier guy at a photo session since we began photography! I think we might need to start each photo session with some sport or “guy activity” from now on. I have to say, he was pretty cooperative for the rest of the morning! All teasing aside, Cole and Kaylee were actually SUPER fun to be around and we truly enjoyed capturing them as a couple during this time in their lives! We can’t wait for their wedding!

There was still so much dew on the ground, everyone’s feet and shoes were wet and grassy. But there was an upside to the dew! I got to write them a little message!

Story time. So – when we took Cole & Kaylee by the water for a few photos, the ducks and geese thought we were coming to feed them. When they realized we had no food, they became quite territorial and started charging at us. I’m sorry, Micah, but this is TOO funny not to share. :)

Micah grabbed this shot just as we were all leaving. Love it!

Michael & Ashley: Engagement {DFW Wedding Photographers}

Posted on September 4, 2010

A couple weeks ago, we headed down to Waco to shoot an engagement session of Michael and Ashley. We had not yet met them in person, so we were super excited about getting to photograph a sweet couple in a brand new location for us! Holy moly, we had NO idea that Waco was so pretty! We spent some time in a park that leads you through hilly terrain with amazingly tall trees hovering over the roads. It felt like we were in Colorado – for a few moments we felt as though we were on vacation in a remote location. Wow. Needless to say, we were pretty excited about it!

After spending a couple of hours with this duo, we know two things for sure. #1.) Michael and Ashley are smitten with each other. Their love was so evident and they are both romantics! #2.) We can’t wait to get back to Waco to shoot their wedding! We saw the location of the reception and could not be more thrilled to capture memories for them at such an amazing venue!

Thank you guys for letting us be the people to “bottle up” your love and emotions through photography for you to forever remember. We are pumped about your wedding! Hope you love your engagement pictures!

Josh & Lyndsey: Wedding {DFW Wedding Photgraphers}

Posted on August 17, 2010

Josh & Lyndsey fell in love at Howard Payne University. My (Ashley) grandpa, born and raised in Brownwood, would declare that there is no better place to live, grow, and fall in love than Brownwood, TX. I have a very strong feeling that my grandpa, who was married for 57 years, would be right about these two lovebirds. When I first met them face-to-face at their Engagement Session last December, it was so very apparent that their love for Jesus is what rooted their relationship so deeply together. As we walked around Sundance Square, I got a glimpse of how sweet their love was for one another. They were kind, playful, and enjoyed the simple things of life. Like sitting in a bookstore drinking coffee together. Or holding hands just because. Yes, it was so very evident that they were going to be one happy married couple one day.

That day has finally come! Micah and I got to share this incredible day with Lyndsey and Josh on a very warm day this summer. Their excitement spread to everyone they were around, and although calm, you could see their nervous excitement growing with each minute that passed. I could tell that even in the few months that had gone by since their engagement session, they loved each other more than before.

Josh & Lyndsey, I know this will be the case for you two your entire lives. Your faith is what brings you together and helps your love to evolve into something greater with each passing day, no matter what comes your way. Thank you guys for being so patient as we worked to get your pictures finished. We pray that you cherish these for generations as you share with your children and grandchildren the legacy that started in good ole Brownwood, Texas.

Lyndsey’s dress was so incredibly vintage and stunning. And the birdcage veil? Ahhh… We couldn’t have loved it more!

Lyndsey’s bridesmaids prayed over her before the wedding. What a sweet moment!

Love how his expression changed SO quickly at the sight at the love of his life.

Josh & Lyndsey’s dad’s played a rotten (and funny!) trick on them as they were leaving! They didn’t crank the old car so it would be ready to go as they departed, but instead stalled the beginning of the honeymoon with a few unsuccessful starts of the engine and some fatherly laughter.

Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Williams! Blessings to you both!
