Hunter & Brooke: Lipan Wedding

Posted on July 8, 2010

I (Micah) LOVE details! When we arrived in Lipan for Brooke and Hunter’s wedding, I got so excited. It was perfect… details, details, details! If I were to plan my wedding over, I would totally steal Brooke’s ideas :) . Their ceremony was in a field — awesome!! White chairs, fun vintage ideas… creativity galore! The weather cooperated, so it made for a perfect day! Brooke and Hunter met at a family friends house, so they thought it was perfect to get married where they met :) . And the landowners are some of the sweetest people I have ever met!

Aren’t these details phenomenal?

Here are Hunter and his guys. Hunter surprised Brooke with matching pink sunglasses. He whipped them out for the pictures and I couldn’t wait to see Brooke’s reaction at the altar :)

Check out Brooke’s necklace… the landowner, family friend of the Benefield’s made it!! How cool, huh!

Below is the horse and carriage that brought Brooke from the field to the altar. Wow. Breathtaking.

We had so much fun photographing Brooke and Hunter. Our favorite part of each wedding is when we get to spend alone time with the bride and groom. With no one else around. Here are a few of our favorites :) !

Chris & Jessica: Greyston Castle Wedding Part II

Posted on June 30, 2010

Here is part 2 of Chris & Jessica’s beautiful castle wedding! Enjoy!

And this is what happens when we tell them to get sassy. :) I love how playful they are!

DKP Insider moment: I (Ashley) want to share just a little bit about why Micah & I work so well together. Well, one of the reason’s anyway. It’s like, we’re on the same wave link… yet, have two different perspectives. This is is PRIME example of what I’m talking about. We both had the exact same idea at the exact same time, but we approached the idea SO completely differently. I’m typically more simplistic, let it happen, get it about how I want it. Micah is more detailed, make it happen, and get exactly what she’s envisioning. Our two perspectives work so well together, but in this case – it definitely shows that her approach was the winner. Look for yourselves. It makes me laugh every time. Can you guess who’s is who’s? :)

Chris & Jessica: Greystone Castle Wedding Part I

Posted on June 29, 2010

Chris & Jessica technically met on the internet, which automatically makes them cool. Jessica’s & Chris’ mutual friend Staley had visited Chris for the weekend and Chris was Instant Messaging Staley to tell her thanks for coming down. Unfortunately (actually… very fortunately), Staley was not at her computer – instead Jessica was. Then began the friendship between Chris & Jessica. After months of a friendship came years of a dating relationship, and finally an engagement, then at last a wedding! The two of them are so comfortable together, so loving, and SO fun. I believe with all my heart that laughter is one of the BEST tools/remedies/aids in marriage! If you can laugh at the little (and BIG) things, you will enjoy life so much more and you won’t sweat the small things that don’t really matter! Chris & Jessica definitely know how to laugh together and just enjoy each other’s company! So sweet!

We had SUCH a great time capturing their love in a place that was incredibly magical anyway! The Greystone Castle in Mingus is so incredibly beautiful. It’s right on I20, which makes it easy for guests to find and a GREAT middle ground for someone who wants to get married between West Texas and North/Central Texas! There were SO many incredible places to shoot around the castle! We had a hay-day! :)

Chris & Jessica, it was an honor being able to spend the day with the two of you. Ya’ll are such a special couple and we pray a huge blessing on your marriage! Enjoy your sneak peek!

Chris & Jess decided on a First Look. They told me that they were SO glad they did it because they released on the nerves they were feeling and could truly enjoy their day! They also got to have time for lots of purdy pictures!

I love how Jessica left her shoes at the bottom of the stairs! She was so afraid that she would trip on the way down, so she left them at the bottom! Great idea!

This is such a sweet moment between Jessica & her dad right before he walks her down the aisle. Kind of like a last minute daddy/daughter moment. LOVE it.

Toast to the bride and groom!

Stay tuned for Part 2 with more incredibly beautiful stuff!!

Brooke: Lipan Bridals

Posted on June 25, 2010

Brooke has a knack for style and all things fabulous. It was so apparent in her choice of dresses, accessories, and location. She’s a stylin’ bride, but still timeless. All those things together make a SUPER fun bridal session! After Brooke & Hunter’s wedding a few weekends ago, we’ve been itching to put these incredible pictures from Brooke’s bridal up. Her beauty is so evident on the outside, but it’s so awesome to know how sweet and kind she is as well! We had a blast taking pictures at her friend’s land in Lipan. So many options… flowers… trees…. fields… fences! OH… and of course, the first thing we saw when we pulled up was the iron gate that was going to be used for the wedding. It was so fun just to put it out in a field and see what all we came up with.

Brooke, you are an amazing girl and we are so happy for you and Hunter! So glad we can finally post these now! Hope ya’ll had fun on your honeymoon!

Jackie & Joseph: Rockwall Harbor Engagement Session

Posted on June 24, 2010

Although we had talked through email, we officially met Jackie & Joseph for the first time at the Harbor on Lake Rockwall. There were tons of people out enjoying the beautiful weather and all of the neat restaurants and shops at the place, and it was so fun to shoot somewhere new! We spent lots of time walking around and talking just getting to know the two of them and of course photographing their cuteness – love it! Jackie & Joseph, thank you for letting us spend the evening with you guys! Ya’ll are a ton of fun! We hope you love your images! Can’t wait until your wedding on New Year’s Eve! Yay!
